National Pop Warner has released Return to Play (RTP) Guidelines that outline multiple phases of play for both our football and cheer teams. Additionally, Coastal Pop Warner has made some modifications that define how we will proceed and as you already know, this means things will look a little different than they have in previous years.

There are a few things you can do as a parent to help make this a bit more manageable for us:
1. Ensure punctual transportation. We can't have children on the fields before or after their practice time.

2. Each child must have their temperature checked and sanitize their hands before they step foot on the field. Please guide them to the check-in desk before every practice or game day. It is more difficult on the fields without a fence so we really ask for your help with this.

3. Only bring water bottles that are clearly marked with your child's name. If your child has a disposable bottle (i.e. sports drinks), please write their name on it.

4. Please remain off the field at all times; parents are asked to stay in their vehicles and to not gather in groups. In the event that they need you, the coaches have your contact information.

5. Volunteer to help! If you have the time and you plan to stay at the field, we would love to have you help take temperatures, pumping sanitizer for the kids, cleaning equipment, etc. Reach out to your team parent for additional guidance on this.

6. Know that as guidelines change, we have to change too. In our current phase we are restricted to 25 per field. This is why we are spread out throughout the week and at different locations than prior years. We are hopeful to get back to our Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 6-7:30/8 routine that we all were previously comfortable with.

7. We want to have this season! So much has gone into making it happen already. We have significant support from Coastal Pop Warner to ensure we get in all of our games and are able to move on to other levels of play if we qualify.

8. When we receive communications or guidance we update you. We know communication has been a little fuzzy and unpredictable as so many people are involved in decision making and planning. Be on the lookout for updates on our Facebook Page: Topsail Junior Pirates, the website, and your email. Several families have had our emails and their coach's emails go to the junk so please ensure we are allowed. :)

Lastly, please remain patient and flexible with us; this is new for all of us and we are learning through this uncharted territory. Our goal is to make each day better and a bit smoother. We welcome constructive criticism and any feedback that might make these new practices better - but remember, we are volunteers and we our doing best, we promise! :) Trust that these changes are to ensure we all remain healthy. We understand it is inconvenient and challenging.
Again, we appreciate your patience.
