Our entire organization is run 100% by volunteers! We wouldn't have Topsail Junior Pirates if it wasn't for our amazing squad of committed leaders on and off the field. We understand and recognize how valuable your time is; all of our volunteers are very appreciated.

A few of our most common roles are listed here: 

Board Members: An excellent way to be fully encompassed and supporting the organization. This is a two year commitment, and requires a voting process. All positions are due to rotate in January 2024, so we will have voting in September 2023. At TJP we our board consists of: a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Board Member at Large, Compliance Officer, Football Commissioner, and Cheer Commissioner. The TJP Board reports to Coastal Pop Warner. 

Head Coach & Assistant Coaches: 
Each football team hopes to have about five coaches and cheer needs at least two; we are ALWAYS seeking coaching staff. This unique position make a direct, lasting impact on our athletes. The time commitment typically includes practice three evenings a week and games on Saturdays once the season starts. Coaches must complete an application, background check, and a few education/certification requirements.

Team Parent: This is a team support role that allows our coaches to coach and worry less about the administrative duties of having a well organized team. The team parent helps with minor tasks like sending out mass communications, creating schedules for half time snacks during game season, collects uniforms/equipment at the end of the season, organizes an end of the season gift for the coaches, and completes volunteer schedules for home games. This is a great way to be involved and give your time to the program, but have less commitments requiring you to be on the field.

Fundraising Support:  We are ALWAYS looking for opportunities to fundraise. If you didn't already realize, football and cheer are expensive! We want to provide optimal equipment, uniforms, and experiences for our teams, but it comes with great cost. If you are creative and have some good ideas, reach out to us!

Home Game Help: A lot goes into home games! We need assistance lining the fields, setting up, collecting gate entrance fees, working the snack bar, selling merchandise, cleaning up, etc. We can't make these exciting days happen without the support of our families. If you can give even just an hour, we'd appreciate it! Signs up will typically make their way around a couple of weeks before game date, but if you are interested in being more involved in the planning process, please contact us. 

Registration Day Volunteers: A lot goes in to getting the helmets to the field, paperwork printed, merchandise sold, set up, clean up, etc. This is only one or two times a year, typically in July to lighten the load of registration on the board members - another great way to give a bit of your time without a huge commitment.
